In reply to the discussion: LA Times editorial nails it on right wing extremism [View all]AverageJoe90
(10,745 posts)53. Good post, but.....
I really do need to set one thing straight:
Here's the problem with the climate doomers.....As Alex Jones sometimes does with whatever good information(reports, whistleblowing, etc.) might actually swing his way once in a while, the climate doomers are definitely pretty bad(probably worse. I'm being nice here, though)about twisting and misinterpreting whatever actual science they do cite to suit their own agendas(maybe it's better than always making stuff up outta thin air but not by much in this case, IMHO).
Spitfire, regardless of what you may have heard from whomever(Hansen? Lovelock?), rendering the planet uninhabitable through any known climate change scenario, is really nothing but totally impossible(not that it brings me much comfort), if not a product of fear-mongering; climate change is bad, yes, but it's not even capable of destroying humanity, let alone rendering this whole planet uninhabitable; even thermonuclear war or a Yellowstone eruption couldn't manage that.....(as hard as it is to believe for some, what I have just said is 100% true.)
Anyhow, at least you were certainly very right about the other folks: I myself have long suspected that the radical racist, misogynist, anti-Semitic, etc. fringe right, is all but totally in control of most of these "Patriot" organizations. And their ranks are growing, too: you think the Teabaggers were nasty? That's just the tip of the iceberg!

It is a very strange thing to name them, "patriot groups'. They are anything but that.
