10. If they now want to cooperate with the president

it's because their puppet masters on Wall Street have told them they better not fuck with the rally that the market is currently experiencing, not because Obama has finally decided to start treating them nice.

They have openly mocked him, vowed to limit him to a single term, opposed every initiative he has put forward, and he has been the model of poise and graciousness in his dealings with them. They've ignored other invitations he has put forth so why are they responding so positively to this one?

IMO it's because the money men of the republican party are starting to see the folly of austerity and the value of government spending in sustaining the current recovery.

The rest of us have known this for a long time but it takes a lot of beating it into the thick skulls of republican legislators before they see the light.
