Ask a Spaniard where he's from, and you'll hear him say he's Gallego, or Asturiano, or Leones, or Vasco, or Castellano, or Catalán, or Extremeño. Anything but Spaniard. They do not see themselves as Spaniards, except when they are outside of Spain.
Provincial in the extreme.
