Look at how soon after the printing press was invented before the dark ages ended (it still took a while, but it had gone on for quite a while).
We just haven't figured out how to capitalize on this enhanced ability to communicate.
The camping in parks part of occupy didn't endear the movement to everyone; it had to evolve in order to get more support.
I'm not real encouraged, but if we all got pissed off about the same thing we could bring about change. Especially if we had a coordinated action; we're just not there yet. It was quite a few years after the Boston tea party before the beginning of the revolutionary war. It takes a while for a movement to define itself.
