Maybe they were even more upset about the rest of his statement: Not only did he say he wasn't concerned about the very poor because they had a safety net, he ended by saying that if the safety net had holes and it needed fixing he would fix it!

And I thought the GOP were running on the "less government, less entitlement" platform!

So. . .it's a double whammy for them!
