In reply to the discussion: 64% Of Americans Want Military Action To Stop Iran [View all]earthside
(6,960 posts)Who in upper leadership in this country has been explaining what an attack on Iran will mean?
From the President and his administration and the Repuglicans we get basically the same message: Iran cannot be permitted to have an atomic bomb and all options are on the table to prevent that possibility.
I haven't heard any top leadership yet explain what such a war will cost; what the economic consequences will be of the turmoil in oil markets; or that there isn't a very high prospect for success ... let alone the cost in Iranian lives.
So, why wouldn't 64 percent want war right now?
Most Americans have been conditioned to love war ("thank you for your service"
and to hate Arabs (yes, I know Iranians are Persians, but who here thinks that the 64 percent know that?).
I, too am of the inclination to believe that our Noble Peace Prize winning President will go along with Bibi and preemptively attack Iran.
