We are the worlds leader in destruction and death. Not really a beacon on the hill for others to aspire to, but a unifying symbol of hate and division.

Countries around the world don't want to fight us, we will bankrupt ourselves to flatten the earth. They do however see us as the bully in the room that someone has to stand up to and bring down a peg. If we led in education, equality and advancement the rest of the world would view us as the great country we think we are.

Empires are a thing of the past, economies are too intertwined and co-dependent for one country to rule supremely. We can still be the greatest most powerful, but I believe there is a saying that those with true power know when not to use it. We haven't learned that yet.
