it's because (or at least for me) of how some of us gun owners on DU are treated - I can't speak for others who don't go out, who are capable of doing so. For me, it's financial. I can't afford the time off from work, nor the money it takes to travel - plus I have a small child and I will not take her to a protest of any kind - especially because of idiots like these in the article.


I wish more DU'ers took the time to hear some of the gun owners out instead of jumping down our throats with insults - you haven't done that to me, and I appreciate that.

never mind...I just read through more of the thread....over and out - again - because in here, apparently, I'm a person who has a small dick (even though I'm a woman) and I have blood on my hands for just owning guns. Even though they're locked up and put away safely and haven't even been used in at least 10 years, and have never been used for anything but targeting. This thread is exactly why you don't hear from those of us who are gun owners, who want better laws in place to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them - from background checks to limiting magazines, types of bullets, guns etc...we get lumped into the same group as the assholes in the article, when we are far from what they are.
