(57,751 posts)As I already said, vote democratically indicates how they vote, through a democratic process. It doesn't indicate for whom they are voting. An adverb is not at all the proper use in that case. A noun is. That noun should have been the object of the preposition, but I left the preposition out. Given this is a website and not a publication, it doesn't quite rise to the level of a crime. Using an adverb in that sentence would say absolutely nothing.
I am not gong to write illiterately to compensate for those with a halting command of English grammar.
Grammar police are always irritating under the best of circumstances, but nitpicking in demonstratively incorrect ways as a proxy for a disagreement with the content of my post is particularly weak.
