17. I was an NRA member when the OKC bombing occurred.

Next edition of American Rifleman featured LaPierre's lengthy article about how the NRA never promoted any wild-eyed, anti-government hysteria.

That very same edition included a Neal Knox article detailing how UN Black Helicopters invaded a Chicago suburb in the middle of the night rounding up all of the citizens in a practice raid.


For the first couple years after I quit the NRA, they kept calling and asking me to rejoin. The conversation went the exact same way every single time....

ME: "While I am a big supporter of gun rights, in most other ways I am fairly Liberal, and"

They hung up on me. Every single time. I understand they now pretend to want Democrats and Liberals. But they made no such pretense back in the '90s.
