131. I actually went and read the emails so I could answer the 'mistress didn't know'

stuff (which was not true). The wife found out five months before the scandal went public, and was under the impression the two were working on repairing the marriage, but there were difficulties (mainly having a third person *IN* their marriage without her consent).

I have no respect for people who do these things, but realistically, as long as they keep me out of their "affairs" (literally), I will generally keep my mouth shut about it. I once had a friend ask me to cover for her cheating on her husband, and at the time I was young enough to actually consider it; I was sympathetic to the fact she was unhappy in her marriage. After a reasonable amount of thought, I explained to her that I wasn't willing to do that, and felt she should let her husband know she wasn't happy. Eventually the man's wife found out, and she made sure the husband found out. My friend's marriage didn't last, but the other couple were able to repair theirs.

This is only news / discussion *for me* because of two things - the way he embarrassed his family showed him to be just SCUM in my eyes + them endangering the wife with STDs, and the big thing of him stealing from the public coffers to hide the affair.

I've said it before - this man needs to keep to a private life; in my opinion he is untrustworthy on so many levels that I think only the GOP would actually consider him a viable candidate because apparently *stealing* and *lying* and *cheating* is okay, even if you get caught (which requires a certain level of hubris/stupidity to boot).

He is going to have family drama at every major life event his children go through for the rest of his life. What an asshole. And her? Selfish awful woman - the absolute definition of the classic "evil step-mother" for the poor kids whose family has been devastated by her actions.
