The country sees the Republicans as worse than the Democrats by a small margin!

• Democrats in Congress rated 34 percent approval, compared with 19 per cent for congressional Republicans

• 69 percent of voters said they were 'very dissatisfied' or 'somewhat dissatisfied' with the direction of the country

• 52 percent said they had a negative image of the Republican Party, compared to 43 per cent who said the same about the Democratic Party

The OP states: "the Republican brand is essentially in the TOILET these days",
but the numbers indicate that the Democratic Party is barely hanging on the rim with its feet in the Stinky Water.

...and people wonder WHY we have such a poor turn out for elections!

Instead of Capitalizing on the plight of the Republican Party by differentiating itself from the clowns and following the Majority of the People by moving HARD to the Populist LEFT on Economic Issues, The Democratic Party leadership seems determined to follow them down the drain by moving to the Conservative Right,
a strategy called triangulation that has resulted in moving the Democratic Party FAR to the Conservative RIGHT of 30 years ago.

Houston, WE have a BIG problem.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their promises.
