(2,730 posts)progressives in Congress that should throw their hats in the ring to shake up the establishment. Debate them in the primaries and don't just coronate them as the leader. Obama had no opposition and he said what he wanted to, just because of it. A woman, hispanic or any white person with the right idea can shake up the Democratic Party because of the diversity within it. It is exactly what Lincoln did. He was recruited by an anti-slavery movement. The Democratic Party needs a movement within their ranks from the Left side of the Party because I believe they are the majority within their Party. Supporting a third Party candidate is suicidal when there is no need. I can think of a number of candidates, left leaning organizations can put money behind, if they only recruit them to run. Take the actress that couldn't run in Tennessee or Kentucky for example. She might not have the right ideas suited for those areas but she would have more popularity in a national campaign than a Republican rightwing candidate. People need to use their heads more than reacting emotionally. These left leaning organizations need to recruit and run their own candidates instead of marching in lock step with the Party favorite.
