Senator Landrieu, when I voted for you in every one of your elections *as a Democrat*, I did so with the expectation that you would represent *Democratic* ideals, which certainly includes civil rights for *all* people. Currently, the federal laws that are geared to help married couples do not afford the same to those united, committed couples who are the same sex.

According to a CNN article that I read today, you believe that "people should love who they love and marry who they want to marry" but that you would not support overturning the federal ban on same-sex marriage. The federal law would not apply to *just* Louisiana; there are many more progressive-minded people across the country who desperately wants all married people to have the same protections and accomodations by our federal laws.

A *Democrat* who votes only the way the wind blows seems to be more interested in being a career polititian than one who cares about what is right and what is wrong.
