222. I think you may not understand the meaning/use of the word apologist in this context

Apr 2013

It does not mean to apologize as in saying "I am sorry for x" or "sorry for the actions of my friend x".
It means to defend a religion, ideology, group, or in this case politician by making persistent arguments.

CS Lewis was a Christian apologist, my favorite in fact, he made some excellent arguments in more than one well known publication. He never apologized for his faith, not that I am aware of.
I am not Christian by the way, but I still respect him and his ability to make excellent arguments.

Of course a specialized term for Obama apologetics would require an additional wiki entry that would in fact term those engaging in it "Obama Apologists".
