(20,371 posts)They're now making 10, 20, and 30-rd magazines, all at the same time. This makes good business sense, because there are several states that have bans on high-capacity magazines, and it's possible more states will follow suit. Given time, I'd bet money they'll start selling 7-rd magazines specifically for the New York State market (NY's new gun control law only allows 7-rd mags).
The only way this would be hypocritical is if they decided to ONLY make 10-rd magazines, something they're clearly not doing. They've been backordered for months since Sandy Hook on 20 and 30-rd magazines; they're making more money than they know what to do with at the moment. Gun control legislation has driven their business through the roof.
Also, I would believe it took them 2 years to develop this new magazine. They are well-known in the gun world for over-engineering and testing the hell out of everything they make. I'll probably sell all my old 30-rd magazines and pick up a bunch of these 10-rd Magpul magazines, just because they have such a good reputation for quality.
