14. We are pretty sure.

We did the necessary research.
Ft Smith is in the middle of an active gas field that stretches eastward to central Arkansas.
We are quite a bit to the south,
and only 3 test wells have ever been drilled in our county,
and they were Plugged and Abandoned.

No coal has ever been produced in this county.

Still, there is no way to be absolutely certain.
An on property source of abundant clean water was at the top of our list.

The Ozarks are beautiful, especially this time of the year.
We chose further south, the Ouachita Mountains west of Mena for the longer growing season and better deals on pristine property.
