40. Don't wash your clothes in that.

The excess iron and manganese that's discoloring the water will stain your clothes, and it won't ever come out.

Every six months to a year, when Central Arkansas Water flushes out its lines, customers are told not to wash clothes in the week that their part of the service area is being flushed. Iron and manganese are naturally occurring minerals here. It's gonna collect in water lines, period. Some water systems are just better able to deal with it than others. I feel for the residents of Tuckerman. But the water is safe for human consumption.

And, NO, it has NOTHING to do with a pipeline spill 75 miles away and downhill from Tuckerman.
