My sensible centrist Democratic Congressman supports Chained CPI [View all]

I'm not surprised. He's on a mission to make life miserable for the poor and middle class. I really dislike this guy. Oregon has 4 Democrats and 1 Republican in the House. This turd thinks it's great but Walden the Republican hates it. What the fuck is wrong here?

Obama's Social Security proposal finds a supporter, but mostly critics in Oregon delegation
Rep. Kurt Schrader, D-Ore., parted ways with the rest of the Oregon congressional delegation Wednesday by praising President Barack Obama's proposal to trim the size of Social Security cost-of-living increases.

Schrader, who frequently has sought to carve out a middle-ground approach on budget and tax issues, said Obama was taking a reasonable step to preserve Social Security's financial stability by proposing a new cost-of-living formula that would cut costs by $130 billion over the next decade.

"It's the least egregious change that can help make sure these programs are here for a long, long time," he said.

Schrader's fellow Democrats mostly savaged the idea, as did the state's lone Republican congressman, Greg Walden.
