(14,881 posts)is that any major elected Democrat, much less someone as savy as the President, has opened this door, given the republicans all the ammunition they could possibly dream of to demolish the Democratic party, stoking any fire of internal divide to a point surpassing even that of the Tea Party and their effect on the republicans. I think we are more likely to see a major party split than they are at this point, where even a week ago i would have sworn the opposite was true.
Ya know.. even if all these new posters are paid republican plants, it doesnt much matter. Obama offered to cut social security. Thats the heart of whats going on here. Unless the entire rest of the democratic party stands shoulder to shoulder in firm opposition to that, how do we get back from that precipice?
