I also didn't believe that Obama would be able to fix the economy and reverse all of Bush's damage within 4 years (though it is moving in the right direction). I'm thrilled, however, with everything that he's accomplished so far despite the fact that members of both parties in Congress, particularly the GOP Tea Party, have done a ruthlessly effective job of kneecapping him at every turn. Lest anybody accuse me of "making excuses" for President Obama's failure to deliver on some initiatives (i.e. closing Gitmo down) or not being able to do more than he did on some issues, I feel that the level of obstructionism perpetrated by the GOP, which has been nothing short of massive and unprecedented, cannot simply be overlooked nor simply chalked up to poor Presidential leadership on Obama's part. Failing to re-elect him next year and possibly even allowing the Republican Tea Party to take full control of Congress next year would be a HUGE mistake IMHO.
