the parties may have swung to the right, but I don't believe the people have. What we are seeing isthe effect of money and corporatism on politicians.

The brazenness & arrogance of the nutty politics that we've been seeing is evidence, imo, that ownership is now in place & these corporate-bought politicians have no fear of any reprisals. The richest & most powerful bought the government on the day a diseased horned toad was served to the public by SCOTUS in a jump-start effort to begin getting rid of the 'pesky guests' at their trough. Eat it or else! They can't be fired because they're the owners.

The rise of fundamentalism is a product of the PTB's (very-unfortunately successful) propaganda campaign to whip this country into a frenzy & constant state of fear.
