At first I believe that the Saudi man being questioned in the Boston bombings was taken to the hospital because he had suffered injuries and either a) He asked for assistance, or b) Paramedics probably rushed to his rescue.
But that's not the case. The man was apprehended as the NY Post reports that CBS said he was "tackled" by someone:
"According to a report by CBS News, the man was initially tackled by a bystander while running from the scene of the explosions.
The bystander told police he grabbed the Saudi because he thought he was acting suspiciously"

Bingo - they were saying "12 dead" literally 30-45 minutes after the bomb exploded!

And apparently "acting suspiciously" meant running from the area a bomb just went off.
