(46,192 posts)because people were posting reasons justifying hitting children, even comparing it to hitting pets and animals (which they also justified).
i was so horrified by it that i requested numerous times for moderators (it was DU2) to lock it.
i had good intentions when i posted it, but for a variety of reasons, it went wrong, some i could have foreseen some i couldn't have. but that didn't matter. when a thread goes badly or causes problems that are not constructive or are more harmful than good, it's time to delete it and that's what i do.
i make mistakes, i make them on DU. everyone does, that's not a crime or terrible failing, it's just part of being a member. not correcting it or admitting to it is the unforgivable sin.
who the heck thinks they never make a mistake on DU that needs correction? that is probably the biggest and most disruptive personal failing at DU.
