(100,133 posts)50. From the time I worked on Eugene McCarthy's campaign I never looked back
That election was the year I turned 21 and could vote for the first time; several of my friends and I worked for McCarthy in town, not on campus. Our end of the county went for McCarthy in the primary, even though he lost the state (California).
Conservative? Never. Desirous of running candidates who will win? Oh hell yes.
