I am starting to believe that the various involved governments are on the verge of overplaying this situation.

At some point fear and terrorism become self-fulfilling.

Use the military more and more domestically, especially in situations not involving natural disaster, and it becomes too easy to expect military presence in everyday circumstances.

Of course, the news media is definitely overplaying this.
