In reply to the discussion: Union Thugs Capture Boston Bombing Suspect. [View all]Beer Swiller
(44 posts)28. Was it really necessary to lock down an entire American city?
In order to catch one 19 year old kid hiding under a tarp over a boat in some guy's back yard? How many people lost a couple of days pay? How many street vendors lost hundreds of dollars in income? How much did Boston Transit, or whatever it's called, lose? How many small businesses took a major hit? How many single mothers lost money for rent or food because the schools were closed and they had to stay home with their kids? Or single fathers? Or poor people in general?
Just how much damage could this 19 year old immigrant have really done? THINK about it.
I do not like this police state response. In time, I don't think many Bostonians will, either.

Oh heck no, I'm applauding all they have done and chastising the too high tax crowd, believe me!

If you ignore the OP's picture and go by the OP subject, then your assertion fits. n/t

Under the Libertarian dream, she would have had the responsibility to capture him.

I was going to respond to his post, but I suspect it's someone trying to rile people up...

Then why aren't the people of Boston throwing beer bottles at the cops and chasing 'em away?

I'm sure that, had you been there and wanted to walk around, you would have been welcomed to.
