5. Here's what one person told me in reply to that a while back:

I kept asking that same question, why anyone thinks these personal arsenals (which, granted, are sometimes HUGE, especially the doomsday-prepper types, and can inflict great harm on regular citizens), can even begin to take on the US Military?

What's odd to me is that these same people who want to fight the government are the same ones who want to fund the Defense Department to obscene degrees.

Duh.

Anyway, I actually got a fairly rational response from one person.

He said they know they can't defeat the US Military. Can't even come close. But he sees himself and others who agree with him as insurgents; they can't win against Goliath, but they can cause them a lot of grief in the process.

I thought that was interesting.
