11. I don't believe it should be considered a "right".

Owning firearms should be a privilege, defined and regulated by federal law, not enshrined in the Constitution just as many other protections are. Driving is a good example. Driving is probably more essential for more people than owning a gun is, yet it is not found among the "Bill of Rights". Driving is regulated by state laws; federal law regulates car manufacturing standards among other things. Drivers are licensed and must pass tests to maintain their license, because cars - just as guns - can be very dangerous machines when used improperly. This setup works for driving; it should work for firearm ownership.

Environmental regulations, medical privacy laws, workplace safety laws: these are examples of protections we enjoy that are not in the Constitution but nonetheless are the law of the land. They can be strengthened or weakened, and adjusted, as needed.
