I would carefully distinguish our use of the word "liberal" and the economic Neoliberalism, as well. Note the definition.

It is like difference between Conservatism and Neo-cons in that the names and the games get changed.

So, with the predominate, transaction-oriented Neoliberal inspected, who does it really sound like and who would support it? I noticed that they omitted "neo". It is humorous how convoluted it all can get.

Neoliberalism

Neoliberalism is a political philosophy whose advocates support economic liberalization, free trade and open markets, privatization, deregulation, and decreasing the size of the public sector while increasing the role of the private sector in modern society.
