I remember an interview with a woman doctor (she was on a panel about abortion). it was about only an abortion could be done if the woman's life was in danger, and they gave her a scenario (healthy mother), and she stated that she would perform the abortion. Because, everytime a woman is pregnant she is at risk of dying, the younger the woman the more the risk increases. She gave the numbers, I remember at the time thinking that's higher than what I thought.
When I had my first child, I was twenty years old. I remember after she was born, I heard the nurse talking to the doctor, telling him that "she is still bleeding, can't get it to stop." I thought who are they talking about; until that nurse came in and started an IV. I was really bleeding, but it was my first and I thought it was just normal.
