This makes no sense! Boston Bombers' Guns! [View all]

With such a heavy police response involved how is the issue of who had what gun, when and where did they have it, and when was it last fired still in dispute?

Boston Bombing Suspects, Tzarnaev Brothers, Had One Gun During Shootout With Police: Officials

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/24/officials-boston-bombing-suspects-one-gun_n_3148609.html

"Two U.S. officials say investigators in the Boston bombings have recovered only one handgun believed to have been used in a gun battle with police...Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis...said shots were fired from the boat where Tsarnaev was found. It wasn't clear whether he was armed when he was captured."

Was the gun found by police the only gun used or was there another one not mentioned in the article?

And since police say shots were fired from the boat, yet from the time the alleged shootout from the boat occurred Tsarnaev did not leave the boat until his arrest, how could he have gotten rid of a gun to the point police have not been able to account for it (the initial gun, or a second gun?), if he did indeed have one that he used to fire shots at the police?

There are a lot of discrepancies on the issue of the guns used in both the street shootout and the boat shootout.
