In reply to the discussion: The Samsung Galaxy S4: Smartphone Innovation hits the wall. [View all]Marr
(20,317 posts)67. I'm 40 and work in the tech industry, and smart phones make me feel old.
It's the first big cultural thing I've seen that I just *don't get*.
So it's a phone with a screen. So what? I could text from an old flip phone. That was fine. Maps are convenient, especially where I live in Los Angeles, but since I'm not a complete moron I never had that much trouble just, you know, thinking or reading an actual paper map anyway.
I see people sitting together and texting other people, or going to interesting events in person and viewing the whole thing through a tiny screen on their silly little phone and I just wonder why people give a shit about this stuff.
Having said that, I'm posting this from a water cooled, custom-built monster PC that my dad didn't *get*, so... I get it in theory... but still.

I think the issue here is that everyone, including myself, assumes this is an extract from the link

I have an Android HTC, too. I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy S3, though. I like the "gorilla" glass
