(13,409 posts)You can finally get a GTX 680 on a Mac, about 14 months after they were released for PCs. Of course, you'll spend $700 for that 680, about 50% more than it cost for PCs when they first came out. But at least you'll get that cool Mac sticker on it. PCs with compatibility issues? You do know that pretty much any modern peripheral works on PCs, right? You also know that almost all GPUs and peripherals need to have specially flashed BIOSes in order to function on Macs, right? It's the exact same damned hardware, but Apple knows that it's customers are extremely easy to fleece, so they make sure that you pay anywhere from 50% to 150% more for it. I'm also hoping that you know that after 18 years in IT, it's incredibly easy to shut down flimsy arguments made by the technologically clueless.
