that the wounds are awful... and I've seen many. But as a forensic pathologist, I must say that the photo appears to depict the top of the Y-Shaped incision done to conduct the autopsy; and it's possible, though hard to tell, that at least one of the "wounds" behind the victim's left ear is part of the incision made to examine the skull and ultimately the brain.
