instead of parroting someone else's interpretation, you would have noticed that Jesus says that those who leave their families for his cause will receive them back in better condition than when they left («a hundredfold.») The separation spoken of here is temporary. Abandonment, on the other hand, generally implies neglect and permanent separation.
