Yale grad offers plot in Hamden (CT) cemetery for burial of Boston bomber [View all]

A Yale Divinity School graduate says he is willing to donate one of his burial plots at a Mt. Carmel cemetery to the family of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

“The only condition is that I do it in memory of my mother who taught Sunday School at the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church for forty years and taught me to love thine enemy,” Paul Douglas Keane wrote on his blog, The Anti-Yale. “I own the plot. No one can refuse me access.”

“This person, I don’t care what a pariah he is, everybody deserves a burial, so I’m willing to make this offer,” Keane said. “I also think it would be a nice thing to do in memory of my mother, who did teach me to love thine enemy.”

Providing a plot for Tsarnaev, he said, is the Christian thing to do."

I think it is ironic that a "Christian burial" is even being considered by a Muslim family, as this story suggests.
