12. Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy Lanier emphasizes compliance...

...and we’ll make sure they understand that if they want to pass through the District of Columbia with loaded firearms as long as they are in compliance with the firearms laws for transportation of firearms to the District, we’re all for it. But passing into the District of Columbia with firearms is a violation of the law and we’ll have to treat it as such.

Here are some DC gun laws the NRAers will have to obey:
*Magazine capacity restricted to 10
*Owner license required
*Concealed carry permits prohibited
*Open carry prohibited
*Possession of unregistered firearms prohibited for both residents and non-residents

About concealed carry: The District of Columbia does not permit the concealed carrying of firearms. Open carry is also prohibited. A lawsuit was filed on August 6, 2009, to compel the district to issue permits to carry weapons.

I hope the NRAers will read and understand these laws before making the journey...
