What a great 1,000th DU post!

It would be nice if more people on DU realized that one thing we definitely have that the bad guys want is creativity.

I'd love it if more and more creative people here were able to share their politically and socially relevant work without being accused of "plugging themselves" or simply ignored outright.

What is it with us, anyway? We ooh and ahh about all sorts of MSM-blessed artists who we feel represent our views, but look upon each others' work with... with what? Suspicion? Envy? What word am I looking for?

Have we been so thoroughly assimilated that we can enjoy only the work of artists who have been "approved" by the very people we wish to remove from power?
