(27,461 posts)and campaign finance advocates have been urging the IRS to step up enforcement. One problem is they don't have sufficient staff, the GOP is making sure of that:

The hearing focused on the challenges facing the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in enforcing criminal campaign finance laws relating to independent groups.
