I think there's a thought that somehow if we get to be better foolers we can fool the people into believing in liberalism - that's what Rove and company do. They fool people into being conservative. But I don't know that this is an accurate perception. At best it's an oversimplification.

The truth is the American people do react positively to our ideals lots of the time.
