'Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker' sought for murder
A man well-known on Facebook and Youtube as "Kai the Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker" is now being sought for the murder of 73-year-old Joseph Galfy, Jr. in northern New Jersey.
Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, 34, is better known as Kai, made headlines earlier this year after he saved two people from being violently attacked by a man with apparent racial motivations who also claimed he was Jesus. McGillvary gave a memorable, profanity-laced local news interview and described himself as "homefree" rather than homeless.
He is also known as Kai Lawrence, Caleb Kai Lawrence and Kai Nicodemus, and relies on the support of strangers for food, transpiration and lodging.
WPVI-TV reports the victim was found inside his home on May 13 after officers received a call to check on his well-being. Galfy was a reliable attorney and when he didn't show up for work Monday friends and coworkers knew something was wrong.
