Police dept. runs out of ammo, police chief asks city residents for ammo donations [View all]

Whether you realize it or not, our great nation — once so proudly rife with ammunition — is in the midst of a bullet crisis. And the ammo shortage is affecting the people who need it most. No, not wealthy hunting hobbyists, but law enforcement authorities. The situation is so dire that Proctor, Minn., police chief Walter Wobig is calling on the general public for high-caliber help. And that call has been answered. "The citizens were like, 'If you need something, we got plenty here,'" Wobig said, and generous citizens came up with 1,500 rounds for the cause. The chief, who is waiting "months" to get bullets from his suppliers, says he'll pay back citizens when his ammo arrives.

God damn, that's fucked up.
