In reply to the discussion: state by state speak your mind about...florida [View all]OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)8. OMG that reminded me
there was a short lived seafood restaurant a few miles from my house - a family owned deal that purported to be from New England and they came down to open up and show us how to seafood. It was all fried clams and fish and stuff and wasn't bad except they didn't have hush puppies. My wife asked them why on earth they wouldn't have hush puppies and the lady said "we just can't get them to taste right".
We laughed and never went back. The place was closed a few months later.
If you wanna fry fish in Florida, we'll let ya. But you better show up with a goddamn hush puppy!

Tallahassee is my home town. Born there in 1957 and left 30 years later. I loved it there and hope

I haven't been there since 1958, but it always seemed too hot and sticky for me.
