(14,162 posts)I actually agree with you on most of your rant. I have no special untarnished place in my mind for Kennedy necessarily. But there are some nuances of history you sort of broad brushed in your earlier post that don't help your point. Some historians think with some semblance of reason that Kennedy could have been assassinated for wanting to get out of Vietnam. Too much money to be made to let him get in the way. Others will disagree but not with better proposals, they just don't like that idea. As for your take on the Bay of Pigs, that depends on your take on the Soviet Union at the time and their reasons for trying to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba. Now we talk worry about nukes in kilotons, then it was megatons. We were closer to nuclear annihilation when it was Reagan vs. Andropov in 1983.
