Everyone on this board I assume will be working or at minimum voting for Obama, but the necessary unifying zeal is not in evidence among the rest of the population. Part of it is that a lot of money has been spent to ensure that is the case, but the other part is that in policy and rhetoric our candidates are designed to excite and galvanize people with excess money rather than what such people would call the excess population.

Obama would be stupid not to use a SuperPAC, the argument would go, because no one in his campaign knows how to win without one. Possibly no one knows how, because it hasn't been, and won't be, tried in this political era. That's no fault on him as he's better than many of his peers would be, but I think it dooms any sweeping movement that wins the entire nation to failure.

Unless it's Santorum or Newt.
