1. in a nearby town they put solar street lights up. the object was to save the taxpayers money.

but you should have seen the reaction. They didn't want them there because they were 'ugly'. Probably the same folks bitching about the taxes. I wouldn't care what they looked like if they save money. The only drawback to these street lights was the lack of foresight that they might need to have an electric option... like we do on solar calculators.
