A Memo To Anyone Elevating Obama's "Scandals" To The Level Of Being Part Of The "Second Term Curse" [View all]

Over the past several days, I have heard many people in the media, and not just the usual suspects on Fox, characterize last weeks events as part of Obama's "second term curse." But before we do that, let's put things into perspective.

Bush's "second term curse" was a botched federal government response to one of the worst natural disasters in US history that left thousands of people in a major American city homeless and without food.

Reagan's "second term curse" was the secret selling of arms to Iran in an effort to release hostages and fund anti-Communist forces in Nicaragua.

And Clinton's "second term curse" was an effort to impeach him over an affair, led by men (Newt Gingrich and Bob Livingston) who, themselves, were having affairs.

Obama's "scandals" are a few rogue IRS agents scrutinizing Conservative groups for 501 C3 status (even though it has since surfaced that Liberal groups faced similar scrutiny).

The Department of Justice going through all of the legal procedures to investigate a leak that could have been detrimental to US national security regarding a mission in Yemen.

And a months old smear campaign to insinuate that President Obama was involved in a cover-up when 4 Americans died in Benghazi, even though it has since come to light that REPUBLICANS were the ones who were editing e-mails in an effort to mislead.

Let's be honest - "Second Term Curses" only happen when Republicans act like their normal selves.
