Feb 2012

I can't tell you the number of times in the past few weeks that i have found myself just absolutely stunned that we are still debating this stuff. It's 2012 for Pete's sake!

I'm so glad to hear that you are pounding this stuff into your daughters' heads. I really worry about younger women. I think they see the 60's and 70's as ancient history and even romanticize that period to some extent. I love the show Mad Men and when I first watched Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD, I was excited to see that this period of time was being portrayed so accurately. I had high hopes that young women would see how women were treated in the work place and at the gynocologists, etc and be appalled. I went on a Mad Men board and was shocked at the number of young women who thought it would be cool to live back then. I wish there was a time machine that could send them all back to 1965 for a month. I swear though, if the GOP isn't stopped, we might not need a time machine.

I have to stop here because I'm about ready to go on another rant-lol.

One other thing though, that your post reminded me of. Did you ever see the movie "Our Time" with Pamela Sue Martin? I wonder if it's available on DVD. That would be a good movie to show your daughters.
