7. Those pictures bring back some memories

that I had set to the back of my mind but not forgotten. I lived in the tornado prone areas of the central US in years past and have seen some nasty tornadoes, always had the good fortune to have shelter when it was needed. A couple times I was traveling with no place to go but still was not hit directly.

and I was a relief worker at the Greensberg, KS devastation a few years ago. The images of today's storm look very similar only it's a larger community. It's hard to imagine the difference between looking at even the most informative photos and actually standing in the middle of it.

I came home from work not knowing that this had happened until I started watching a belated news show online... I'm moved but not surprised somehow. Thanks to all who have provided info here on DU as it seems to be the greatest collection of information.

I used to pass through that very stretch of interstate highway a few times a week in another life...

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone dealing with this either onsite or remotely yet intimately.
